While making our storyboard, we had some issues with showing our distance of framing. For our film, our main character is an artist, and the film features shots of her painting. The shots are close up when Caroline is painting a scene, yet the actual painting can range from being an extreme long shot, a long shot, or a medium close up. While it is easy to tell in the actual film that it is a close up of a painting, the storyboard appears to be displaying the actual photo. For example, a shot features Caroline painting her and her family having a picnic in a park, which is an extreme long shot, yet her painting is a close up. As the storyboard is hand drawn, it is hard to picture the actual film. To ensure that this wasn’t misconstrued, we tried our best to emphasize the frame of the painting and the tip of the paintbrush.
